Investment Advisory Programs As an SEC Registered Investment Advisor, ING Financial Advisers, LLC (IFA) offers a wide array of Investment Advisory Programs, which Investment Advisor Representatives (IARs) can use to provide financial and investment advice, covering a wide range of financial objectives and risk tolerances, to assist clients in meeting their financial goals. IARs manage client relationships in the Investment Advisory Programs and will assist clients in completing a risk tolerance questionnaire and other documentation to match the client with a risk-based portfolio that is consistent with the client's investment objectives and risk tolerance. IARs will meet at least annually with clients to asses the continued appropriateness of the Investment Advisory Program and the specific investments selected for the client. Investment Advisory Programs offered by IFA include the following: ING Choice Advisory: a fee-based advisory service that offers investors a personalized investment analysis and ongoing advice. IFA's Investment Selection Committee selects the mutual funds within each risk-based client portfolio and reviews the portfolios periodically, providing the client's IAR with alerts regarding suggested changes to portfolios.
ING Wealth Management: a fully discretionary investment advisory program. IFA partnered with 2 highly recognized and respected names in the industry; ING Investment Management (IIM), an affiliate of IFA, and Ibbotson Associates to build this program. IIM develops the model portfolios and Ibbotson, a Registered Investment Advisor will perform the investment analysis, provide fund selection based on their proprietary methodology, and monitor and review those funds. Changes to the models by IIM and/or the recommended funds by Ibbotson are executed automatically on the client's behalf.
ING Wealth Management Tax Sensitive:
a fully discretionary investment advisory program is similar to ING Wealth Management. However, IFA identified a need for an Investment Advisory Program that is designed to manage a client's non-qualified assets while attempting to minimize the tax liability to clients. Also, unlike the ING Wealth Management program, Ibbotson both develops the model portfolios and researches and recommend funds. Changes to the models /or the recommended funds by Ibbotson are executed automatically on the client's behalf.
ING Momentum ETF Strategies: a fully discretionary investment advisory program, will invest solely in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). In this program Ibbotson Associates develops asset allocation models and provides investment research and selection for each risk-based portfolio. The portfolios are reviewed monthly to attempt to take advantage of market movements by overweighting market sectors that Ibbotson expects to perform more favorably than others and underweighting market sectors that Ibbotson expects to perform less favorably (this monthly review may generate transactions on a monthly basis; therefore, this program may not be appropriate for conservative, "buy and hold" investors). Changes to the models or the recommended ETFs by Ibbotson are executed automatically on the client's behalf.
SAS Select: a non-discretionary managed account program, which provides flexibility, customization and personalized service to clients. The IAR is responsible for developing the asset allocation, selecting the investments and ongoing monitoring of the portfolio.
Curian Capital:
a Registered Investment Advisor which offers a separately managed account program to clients. This program provides a client with a fully diversified portfolio made up of general and fixed income securities. This program is managed by portfolio managers hired by Curian Capital. The asset allocation received for the client will be managed by Curian's portfolio managers and the portfolio managers have full discretion over the account.
